About me

Aman Ullah was born in 1950 at No. 5 Quarter of Maungdaw Town, Arakan, Burma/Myanmar. He was the third child of the late Mohammed Shafi and the late Farizaman Khatun.

His early education was at State High School, Maungdaw and State High School, KyaukPyu. Then he joined the Rangoon Teachers’ Traning Institute (RTTI) in 1969 for a two years certificate course. He earned his B.A degree from Rangoon Arts and Science University as an external student in 1977, and Diploma in Education (Dip. Ed) from Rangoon Education Institute in 1981. He also passed the Higher-Grade Pleader’s Examination (HGP) in 1982.

He was a teacher in 4 state middle schools in Ann Township and Maungdaw Township for 15 years from primary assistant teacher (P.A.T) to senior assistant teacher (S.A.T).

In 1985 he crossed to Bangladesh and joined the Rohingya resistance movements there. He served in the movement in various capacities, and he was the secretary general for some years of the Arakan Rohingya National Organization (ARNO), which emerged in 1989 out of the merger of all exisiting Rohinyga organizations in 1990s. At present, he is a Member of the Central Committee of the Arakan Rohingya National Alliance (ARNA), a political union founded on 20 November 2022.

During his stay in Bangladesh, he served in English Medium schools. He was founder member and Executive Director of International School & College (ISC), Chittagong; Managing Director and Founder Principal of Full Bright International School, Chittagong and Principal of Scholar School Chittagong.

He is the author of “The Citizenship Issue of Rohingya and Myanmar’s Policy of Denationalization”. He has written more than 100 articles on social media about history, politics, legal system and geopolitical issues of Burma, Arakan and Rohingya. Some of his articles have appeared in the national newspapers of Bangladesh and international journals.
